SageWest Named a ‘Purple Heart Hospital’

In 2025, SageWest Health Care became the first hospital in Wyoming to be designated a Military Order of the Purple Heart Hospital. As Purple Heart Hospitals, the SageWest Riverton and Lander campuses have demonstrated their commitment to remember and recognize the service and sacrifice of the men and women in our communities who have, and are, selflessly serving their country and our communities.

SageWest Health Care in Lander and Riverton are licensed for 146-bed acute care facilities located on the banks of the Wind River Mountains. SageWest is committed to providing excellent patient care, supporting its physicians, creating an excellent workplace for its employees, providing community value and fiscal responsibility.

SageWest Health Care is fully accredited by The Joint Commission and licensed by the Wyoming Department of Health.

Accredited Chest Pain Center

SageWest is a Chest Pain Accredited Facility. We have received our accreditation from the American College of Cardiology. We have the capabilities for EMS to transmit EKGs to our Emergency Department from the field. This ability helps us to be able to diagnose and treat life-threatening cardiac conditions more quickly, such as a heart attack.

Primary Stroke Center Advanced Certification

SageWest has achieved advanced certification as a Primary Stroke Center by The Joint Commission. Achieving this means we're making exceptional efforts to attain better quality outcomes for our stroke patients. The quality of care we provide meets the unique and specialized needs of stroke patients in our area.

Mammography Services Accreditation

SageWest Health Care's mammography services have earned a three-year accreditation from the American College of Radiology (ACR), a respected national organization that sets the highest standards for medical imaging. This recognition means that when patients come to SageWest for a mammogram, they can feel confident knowing they are receiving care that meets rigorous standards for safety, quality, and accuracy. The ACR accreditation is awarded only after a thorough review by expert radiologists and physicists who evaluate everything from the training of our staff to the quality of our equipment.
